Painting nails with daddy............

One of my favorite things about my husband.......he paints piggies.

Wheat Harvest - 1st for our kiddos.....

We caught up with my Uncle Mark during harvest so that the kids could see what it was like. Cayden and Cyvannah had a great time - Carlee fell asleep!!

I remember sitting in the hot wheat trucks at their age waiting to go to the Coop to empty. A frozen coke and a Snicker's bar was the best on those hot days!! I would always try to take a book - of course, the only books around were my grandma's smut novels......that was interesting. Anyway - THANKS to my very busy Uncle Mark for letting our kids experience a wheat harvest...even if it was air conditioned and by the way - GPS on a combine??? Really????? We have come a long way baby.....

Ahhhhhhh......

This is such a pretty sight........

I saw this many times as a young girl visiting my grandparents during harvest......

Not sure what it is - but, I will never get tired of seeing this. Wish I had a sound bite of the wheat blowing in the wind.......it's just awesome!!

Apricots Apricots Apricots!!!

We discovered that we have about 10 apricot trees on our farmhouse property. My mom's husband, Dwight, says there have not been apricots in years but, for some reason this year - they all bloomed and produced fruit!! We had SO MANY apricots and they were wonderful. It was fun to pick the fruit right off the tree and eat it. My mom made a bunch of Apricot jam/jelly and it was really good. The kids ate a ton and it was nice to see they liked them! I wish I could say that the bag Vanna and Carlee are holding was full of Apricots - but, it was housing a couple of Roly Poly's that they adopted. As you can see from my mom's face - they were REALLY good Apricots....hehe

I LOVE Auctions......my first deal of the century!!

My mom, Dwight, the girls and I went to an Auction in Ness City. we had a blast! I had never been and it was stressful! We just laughed and laughed about trying to buy stuff and figure out how much it was going for....

Anyway - towards the end - they were trying to sell furniture...a lot of people had left and so no one was bidding anything. This couch came up for sale and no one wanted it. I had mentioned to my mom that it was a neat couch earlier but, I had gone to pay for something and we didn't hear what was going on with the furniture. Turns out - the couch sold for $1. Yes - $1.00. 100 pennies, 4 quarters, 10 dimes....really? My mom asked the guy if he was really wanting that couch and he said - no - but, he knew they needed to get it out of there. My mom asked if he would take $10 for it - he said, "no". But, he would take $1.00. So - this beautiful couch is now ours. It really is amazing...the pictures don't do it justice. I can imagine that this was sitting in a formal living room somewhere barely used. It still has all the plastic wrapping in the cushions and they are stiff as if never used. It is a soft velour fabric and I LOVE IT!!!! You are all invited to come and sit on our new couch and visit......

Random posts that I FAILED to get done for 2010....

We visited Grandma & Grandpa Bragg in the summer at their new house. It is really beautiful. We had a really nice visit - Matt and Cayden were able to go fishing with Grandpa and the girls and I went with Grandma to a new park there and went for ice cream afterwards. It was really hot and windy during our visit - the best place to be was in the air conditioning. I love that Grandma leaves us notes in the bathroom telling us to not "skimp" on the towels and to make ourselves at home. It is so nice to visit - the food is great - the company is great....thanks so much Grandma and Grandpa!
